We Strengthen Women’s and
girls safety and Security

Under the Women’s and girls’ safety and security program, HOPDEV working together with community in which are respected for the key role they play in arbitrating conflicts or influencing the community attitudes and beliefs; By influencing women, community leaders, religious leaders and as well as Community based Organization and process of their change. We are focused on raising awareness for change in social norms and their behavior condoning violence against women and girls through sensitization meetings, peer education with community volunteers, local radio, community education, educational entertainment and other mass communication.

We train the host community members of women and girls to become pro-active community facilitators on GBV issues related to violence against women and girls. HOPDEV also organize women’s forums in local level and at supporting them in conducting public/ Street and raising awareness campaign in order to share and shift the knowledge, attitudes behaviors and skills around GBV against women and girls their community. In addition, HOPDEV also provide direct services, Counseling, medical care, and temporary shelters to women and girls survivors of violence, and teaching women and girls the skills they need to gain so that they can live independent lives. These skills will empower them to speak out and make them leaders and advocate for change.

HOPDEV is working to empower vulnerable refugee women and girls in the Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
